I was born in a little out of the way place in the middle of Zululand. A year later my parents moved toStaff%20picture2.jpg Swaziland where we lived for 12 years. After a brief stay in South Africa we immigrated to Canada where my parents settled in Sarnia, Ontario. After attending school in Chicago and Toronto, I ended up settling in Ottawa, the capital of Canada.  My variety of locations has forced me to see the world through a different set of eyes. This has helped me to appreciate the wonder of people and cultures other that the one I am living in now.

I was married in 1989 to Judy Sider.  We have two wonderful children.  Joshua was born in 1996 and Benjamin in 1997.  As a family we enjoy camping trips in our Coleman pop-up trailer, hiking on the trails close to our house, trips to the beach and a variety of sports experiences.

We moved to Ottawa to be a part of Arlington Woods Church.  For many years I was the Youth Pastor and Assistant/Associate Pastor involved in many aspects of church life.  For the last six years I was the Senior Pastor providing leadership to the congregation. I resigned my position there in 2005 to pursue some other God given areas of interest.

In 2006 I worked for YOUCAN, as Director of Development. YOUCAN is a by-youth, for-youth organization that does conflict resolution training. Then, in the spring of 2007 I joined the Canadian Bible Society as their Eastern Ontario Director.

My non-profit experience taught me how to work well with volunteers and appreciate the value of team. It also helped me to appreciate my own strengths and see how I might use them more often.  Public speaking and connecting with people who want to make a difference are two areas I enjoy working in.

I am a graduate of the Arrow Leadership Program for young leaders in Canada.  I have also served as a Host Pastor for the Willow Creek Leadership Summit. I serve on the Board of the Free Methodist Church in Canada. My interests include travel, reading, camping, basketball and war history.  Recently I pursued some of my family history and was able to get my British passport.
